To remain in the here and now and not buy into other people's dramas. 

Coming from a military family my childhood was littered with moves.   Always being the new kid honed my skills to make friends quickly which translates into a genuine interest in what others have to say.  You can learn SO very much by listening.

As an adult I've moved across the planet.  Losing most of my "precious" possessions only to realize that I didn't own them . . .it was the other way around.  They owned ME.  Not having them left me feeling lighter . . . more myself. 

I now look at where I currently reside as temporary.  Enjoying where I'm AT because none of us know how long that will be.

Somewhere along the way I realized that we ARE the world we live in.  BE that world.  Don't judge if you don't want judgement.  Don't hate if you don't want hate.  Understand that everyone, including yourself deserves compassion and forgiveness.
